DFW Combat is a proud member of the Krav Maga Alliance, one of the largest and fastest-growing affiliate organizations for Krav Maga in the world. There are currently over 140 affiliates all over the world: from the US, UK, Spain, Japan, Australia, and beyond; each dedicated to Krav Maga and each other. KMA's goal is to maintain and improve techniques and teaching methodologies for Krav Maga instructors.
KMDFW is a Regional Training Center for the Krav Maga Alliance
Only a handful of gyms out of the whole Alliance are selected as regional training centers - facilities where regular training and certification events are held. Our Chief Instructor, Daniel Hines, is a regional manager and member of the KMA Training Team and regularly administers training to instructors from all over the Krav Maga Alliance.

Each instructor who certifies under Krav Maga Alliance must have hundreds of training hours before being considered for training, and then many schools have their own internal instructor training programs to prepare candidates for certification. Each certification is multiple days and is specific to one belt level of the Krav Maga Alliance curriculum. Candidates must demonstrate physical fitness, technical skills, and teaching ability and are assessed by members of the KMA Training Team before they receive a diploma.
John Whitman - KMA Founder
The Krav Maga Alliance was created by John Whitman, a sixth degree black belt in Krav Maga. John is the former president of Krav Maga Worldwide, and earned instructor degrees from the Krav Maga Association of America, Krav Maga Worldwide, and the prestigious Wingate University in Israel. He is the only person to have earned a Senior Instructor diploma from Wingate.
He has trained thousands of civilians and hundreds of law enforcement and military personnel, including the Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations Antiterrorist Specialty Team. John is the co-author of COMPLETE KRAV MAGA and KRAV MAGA FOR BEGINNERS. He was a leading participant in the creation and refinement of the
Instructor Training Program used by Krav Maga Worldwide, a program he headed for 7 years.
The Training Team
The Krav Maga Alliance Training Team is made up of a handful of the most elite instructors in the entire Krav Maga Alliance. These men and women are responsible for training and certifying instructors at gyms all over the world, and they regularly discuss new training methods to keep the system moving forward. Our own gym is a regional headquarters for KMA, with our Chief Instructor administering several certifications each year for instructors from all over the Alliance.
