BJJ SUMMER CAMP
This summer get your kids involved in one of the fastest-growing sports in the US!
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu combines techniques from Judo, traditional Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and wrestling to create a martial art that is fun, highly adaptable, and great for self defense. Many of the techniques in BJJ use leverage and an understanding of position in order to defeat a bigger attacker, and often competitions turn into a "chess match" to see who can out-think their opponent.
Our summer camp is for beginners or any kids looking to get an in-depth look at the sport of BJJ. We'll cover basic technique, position, transitions, and competition rules; but students don't have to have an interest in competing to join!

ABOUT THE COACH

Meet Hanszell “Abacaxi” Mortley!
Hanszell grew up in a family who loved martial arts. His father is a yoshitsune waza Jiu Jitsu black belt as well as karate brown belt. Hanszell was placed in yoshitsune at a young age but later branched away from it as he grew. Until at the age of 14 his passion for Jiu Jitsu ignited after a wrestling match at a party left him embarrassed, and from that point on he involved himself in more Jiu Jitsu and more competition. Hanszell now strives to become the next world champion. He wants to share this passion with others and to help them build self confidence so that they can become a champion on the mats and in the world around them.
