YOUTH MUAY THAI SCRIMMAGE
Welcoming all youth Muay Thai athletes!
This is an opportunity for you to show your skills and determination in the ring and to gain experience in Muay Thai competition. The entire purpose of this event is to get our young competitors some addition experience in the ring and help them develop their technique and confidence. Matches will be made according to age, weight, gender, and experience; and the goal is to challenge each athlete.
Since this will be about skill development no winners will be declared - both hands will be raised. Constructive feedback will be provided by the line judges to each coach, who will then share their comments with their teams at their discretion.
Awards for best spirit, best composure, etc. will be awarded at the end of the event.
Spectators are welcome!

Each athlete must bring their own protective equipment (boxing gloves, shin pads, mouthpiece, groin protector, and HEADGEAR). Thai shorts are mandatory.

"Semi" contact - strikes can be fast and technical but not hard. Strikes making full contact or having the appearance of excessive contact will result in disqualification. Points, not power!

Clinch and sweeps are allowed. No elbows.

Striking is only allowed to legal scoring areas - the front/sides of head and torso. No knees to the head.

Showboating, taunting, profanity, or other unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.

This is a scrimmage - no winners will be declared. The purpose of this event is to provide fair, challenging, safe, and fun experience to each athlete

Bouts consist of 3 x 90 second rounds with 60s breaks

Mandatory 8 count rule in effect
